Community Based Rehabilitation Program (CBR)

Developing and mainstream the physically challenged and most vulnerable is the mission of the Project. The project has been able to reach the marginalized like the disabled, vulnerable and tribals and bring them into the mainstream. Apart from assisting disabled SHGs, DPOs, financial assistance is also arranged by the DMI to disabled and vulnerable persons individually for starting livelihood activities. Some of the Project interventions are:

Highlights of the Program

We have implemented Community Based Rehabilitation programme for the Physically Challenged in Thiruvallur District – Thiruvalngadu Block and Kancheepuram District – St.Thomas mount Block under Caritas India- CBRF Bangalur, Puduvazhvu & Vazhikatti schemes of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

  • More than 127 Disabled people’s Organization (DPOs) had been formed.
  • Formed 147 groups in which 1276 differently abled persons jointed as members.
  • 3200 persons received National ID Card, Aids and Appliances.
  • Conducted two Medical camp for 765 differently abled persons.
  • 786 differently abled and vulnerable persons availed individual economic assistance without interest for a total sum of Rs. 10, 70,300.
  • 438 physically challenged person helped to get Rs.1000 as monthly assistance.
